MAIN INDEX

This Singapore Naval Base continuation page shows a selection of pictures of ships taken there soon after the end of World War Two. They are from the collection of ALFRED ERNEST PRIGMORE, then a young seaman, to whose memory this page is dedicated.

Alfred's son, Steve, was kind enough to send me these pictures in late 2011 together with some from Alfred's time at HMS GANGES. They are especially welcome as they also fill the gap almost exactly between the end of the war and my joining at GANGES in 1954.

Joining HMS GANGES on the 15th of November 1945 ALFRED PRIGMORE completed his training there a year later and within ten months was in Singapore.
